Don't Let Fear Bury the Book God Called You to Write

Many Christian authors struggle with self doubt. You may wonder whether anyone will read your book or whether your message is important enough. Those questions often become the greatest obstacle to obedience. Remember that God never calls you to compare your assignment with someone else's. He calls you to be faithful.

Ecclesiastes 12:10 reveals the importance of seeking words that are both truthful and acceptable. Pray over every chapter. Study the Scriptures carefully. Allow the Holy Spirit to guide your writing so that every page reflects Christ and glorifies God. Your book should leave readers loving Jesus more than they love your writing.

The greatest authors are not always the most gifted. They are often the most obedient. Write faithfully, edit carefully, pray continually, and trust God to place your book into the hands of those He has prepared. Your obedience today may become someone else's testimony tomorrow.

Ask yourself, whose life could be changed because I chose to obey God's call to write? Will I allow faith to become greater than my fear?
